We suffer once for the event
Joy and sorrow alike
We suffer again for thinking
Reliving the event in pleasure or pain
We suffer in triplicate for hope
Moment Stay or moment leave
And again
And again
And again
We turn the wheel
Until we forget
Or put it down
Forever to live where it resides
Its rightful place
Behind you
Artists Note: I was experiencing a moment of happiness one day, later that day, I had a moment of sadness. With the happiness, I found myself wishing it would stay. With the sadness, I found myself wishing it would go away. Then I realized…neither is right.
